Job Description

MG Motor Australia is looking for an experienced and commercially driven Regional General Manager, Sales to lead dealer sales performance across NSW, QLD and ACT.

This is a key field-based role responsible for driving retail and wholesale results, strengthening dealer relationships, and supporting the execution of national sales initiatives across the region. You will work closely with dealer partners and internal stakeholders to identify opportunities, lift performance, and help deliver MG’s broader commercial objectives in a fast-paced and growing automotive environment.

 

About the role

Reporting to the Sales Director, you will play a hands-on role in managing and developing the dealer network across your region. You will use your strong commercial acumen, market knowledge and stakeholder management capability to drive sales outcomes, support dealer performance, and provide valuable market feedback to the business. In addition to leading dealer performance across the region, this role will also lead a team of Regional Business Managers to ensure strong execution, accountability and support across NSW, QLD and ACT.

 

Key responsibilities

  • Build, maintain and develop strong relationships with Dealer Principals, Dealer Management teams and other key dealer stakeholders across NSW, QLD and ACT
  • Drive regional retail and wholesale sales performance in line with business targets
  • Monitor dealer performance, pipeline activity, stock levels and market conditions to support effective sales execution
  • Identify performance gaps, risks and opportunities across the dealer network and implement action plans to improve results
  • Conduct regular dealer visits to review business performance, discuss opportunities and provide support and guidance
  • Negotiate major commercial outcomes within approved policy and delegation limits
  • Support retail campaigns, model pushes and tactical sales initiatives to maximise conversion and market share
  • Monitor aged stock within the region and recommend actions to improve stock turn and support clearance activity
  • Provide timely and accurate sales reporting, forecasts, variance analysis and revised projections
  • Monitor competitor activity, pricing, campaigns and market trends, and provide recommendations to strengthen regional performance
  • Work closely with internal stakeholders across Sales, Aftersales, Marketing, Logistics and Network Development to support dealer performance and business outcomes
  • Support fleet opportunities within the region where required and in line with company strategy and policy

 

About you

To be successful in this role, you will bring strong automotive sales experience, a practical commercial mindset, and a proven ability to influence dealer performance in a competitive market.

You will ideally have:

  • At least 5 years’ experience in automotive OEM or dealer network sales within the Australian market
  • Proven experience managing dealer relationships and driving wholesale and retail sales outcomes
  • Demonstrated people leadership capability, including coaching, performance management and leading geographically dispersed teams.
  • Strong commercial acumen, including reporting, forecasting, sales analysis and business planning
  • Demonstrated ability to identify performance gaps and implement practical improvement initiatives
  • Strong negotiation, influencing and stakeholder management skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • The ability to work autonomously and manage a geographically dispersed region
  • A current driver license and willingness to travel regularly
