Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Technical Support Specialist to provide advanced technical support and diagnostic guidance to dealer networks across the MG and IM brands. This role is responsible for assisting dealers with the diagnosis and resolution of technical vehicle concerns, escalating complex issues where required, and ensuring repairs are completed in accordance with approved SAIC procedures and standards.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide technical support and diagnostic guidance to dealer service departments.
  • Manage and resolve technical assistance cases through MG systems and processes.
  • Review and analyse vehicle data, DTCs, repair history, diagnostic logs, and technical reports.
  • Escalate complex product concerns to engineering or head office teams where required.
  • Support root cause analysis and field quality investigations.
  • Assist dealers with technical aspects of service operations and repair processes.
  • Liaise with factory teams on technical, training, and dealer-related matters in conjunction with the Technical Service Manager.
  • Maintain ongoing professional development through participation in MG training programs and technical upskilling initiatives.
  • Provide technical support at company events and dealer engagement activities.
  • Maintain accurate case documentation and ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Communicate and support resolution of operational issues impacting dealer service activities

 

Role Requirements

  • Certificate III in Light Vehicle Mechanical Technology.
  • Minimum 2 years post-qualification automotive industry experience.
  • Certificate III in Light Vehicle Automotive Electrical Technology is highly desirable.
  • Certificates AURSS00064 & AURSS00037 is highly desirable.
  • Strong automotive diagnostic and repair experience.
  • Advanced understanding of vehicle electrical and mechanical systems, CAN communication systems, automotive diagnostic systems
  • Ability to interpret wiring diagrams, technical manuals diagnostic data
  • Experience using OEM diagnostic equipment and service information systems.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple technical cases simultaneously.
  • Strong stakeholder management and dealer relationship skills.
  • High attention to detail and administrative accuracy.
  • Experience within an OEM, distributor, dealership, or technical support environment
